I had heard mixed reviews about Nepal Restaurant on Main St. in Montrose, but Sara and I were exhausted and starving and headed there anyway, hoping the naysayers were fools. Which they absolutely were. The place is simple, plays lovely music, the beer was cold, and the food was overwhelmingly delicious. Sara and I both always order the same thing (me: korma, her: chicken tikka masala), so it was nice to sample someone else’s favorite. It was the first time I’d tried chicken tikka masala and I almost cried it was so good. (I do love my veggies, but I may have found a new favorite.) This time I ordered a sort of entree sampler that included korma, curry, bhurtha (eggplant and tomato), roti, and a samosa. We walked out of there full and smiling, happy to have found delicious Nepalese food in the heart of western Colorado.
